What the Diani beach package includes
Every Diani beach package here covers the train, the transfers, the room and the meals. Economy class seats on the Madaraka Express are included both ways. The train takes about five to six hours from Nairobi and crosses Tsavo, where people regularly see elephant and buffalo from the window. Private transfers between Miritini station and your hotel are included, so nobody is negotiating a taxi with luggage at the end of it. Tickets are issued by Kenya Railways.
The meal plan
A pod of dolphins glides gracefully beneath the clear blue waters, creating a magical coastal wildlife experience.
All Inclusive covers breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks, plus selected alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks through the day. Entertainment and the hotel facilities are included. Spa treatments, premium imports and excursions are not.

The Kisite-Mpunguti marine park, gazetted in 1978
Kisite-Mpunguti Marine National Park, an hour south, for snorkelling by dhow with dolphins on the way and lunch at Wasini.
Colobus Conservation, which runs the rope bridges over the coast road and offers forest walks among the Angolan colobus.
Shimba Hills National Reserve, cooler and green, and the only place in Kenya to see sable antelope.
A sunset dhow cruise, which is the easiest hour of the whole trip.
December to March is hot, sunny and calm, and the busiest. July to October is cooler and breezy, which suits kitesurfers. April to June is wet and the cheapest time on the coast. This offer runs to 20 December 2026.

Breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks and selected drinks through the day, plus hotel entertainment and facilities. Premium imported drinks, spa treatments and excursions are extra.
Can I fly instead of taking the train?
Yes. Ukunda airstrip is a short flight from Nairobi's Wilson Airport. Flights are not included in this price and we will quote the difference.
Is this price available to visitors as well as residents?

The shilling rate is a resident and citizen offer. Visitors are welcome on the same package at the published rate; ask us and we will confirm the current price.
The Madaraka Express leaves Nairobi in the morning and reaches the coast in about five to six hours, crossing Tsavo on the way, where elephant and buffalo are regularly seen from the window. Your seats are booked in economy class and included in the price. At Miritini a private transfer is waiting to take you the last stretch to Diani, about ninety minutes depending on the ferry or the bypass. Check in, dinner at the hotel, and the first evening is yours.

Day 2
A full day on Diani beach
Breakfast, then the day is entirely yours. The reef sits a few hundred metres offshore, which keeps the lagoon calm and shallow at low tide and makes this one of the safest swimming beaches on the Kenyan coast. All meals and selected drinks are covered, so nothing needs planning. If you would rather be busy, the hotel books snorkelling trips, kitesurfing lessons and a dhow cruise at sunset.

Day 3
A second day, and the excursions if you want them
The second full day is where people either do nothing at all or go and see the coast properly. An hour south, the Kisite-Mpunguti marine park is reached by dhow, with dolphins often seen on the crossing and lunch at Wasini Island. Inland, Shimba Hills National Reserve is cooler and green, and the only place in Kenya with sable antelope. Closer to the hotel, Colobus Conservation runs forest walks among the rare Angolan colobus. Excursions are booked and paid at the hotel.
